What's Trending Right Now at Spring Creek Church

Our Own Mardi Gras Musicians
Mardi Gras Dixieland Band PhotoIf you weren't in church on Sunday, February 19, you missed rousing renditions of "Down By the Riverside," "When the Saints Come Marchin' In," and "Peace Like a River," by our own Dixieland ensemble with Michael Simmons on guitar, Janel Nelson on piano, Ron Holm on banjo and harmonica, Duane Phillips on drums, plus (not pictured) Doug Phillips on baritone and Bob Prinzing on trumpet. It was all part of a joy-filled service that celebrated the spirit of New Orleans and Pastor Michael's Louisiana roots. Michael also wore his new orange and blue "retirement" sneakers for the first time, as if the service wasn't colorful enough already!

Book Buzz is Back!  Donate your used books to share and take some new ones home to read. The table is set up in our Fireside Room through Palm Sunday, April 1st. We are a congregation of avid readers and the selection is growing daily. In addition to Book Buzz, we have a Book Club which meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm. For more information and meeting location, call our church office to get in touch with the current coordinator.

Speaking Christian... Beginning Sunday, March 4th at 9:30 am, there will be a new learning event led by Bob Black based on the work of author Marcus Borg. Contact the church office if you would like to order your copy of the book. Lively and thought-provoking discussion is guaranteed!

Fellowship Dinners are a great opportunity to spend time with friends and make new ones by signing up for two rotating dinners. You will be matched with four to six other people from church to share time together either in a home or a restaurant. Three groups have already formed, and more hosts are needed for future gatherings. If you are interested in hosting or participating, call the church office and a member of our Congregational Care Ministry will contact you to work out the details.
